Moray Courts: Buckie man arrested in Elgin with cocaine and a metal bat
A man has been placed under a curfew after being found in possession of both cocaine and a metal bat.
Norman Stewart was arrested by the police on Woodside Terrace in Elgin during the course of March 23 this year.
The 26-year-old appeared at Elgin Sheriff Court where he pleaded guilty to a charge of having an unspecified amount of the drug.
He also admitted a seperate charge of having the bat at various locations around the town, including Newmill Road.
Fiscal Shamiela Ghafar successfully tabled a motion for the bat to be confiscated.
Meanwhile, defence solicitor Matthew O’Neill asked the court for leniency as a young relative of his client had recently suffered a cardiac arrest.
Stewart was ordered to stay within his home address at Milton Drive, Buckie, between the hours of 7pm and 7am for the next six months.
