Burghead gears up for family fun

A WEEKEND of family fun is taking place in Burghead to raise money for the ongoing refurbishment of the Community Hall.

Events gets underway this Friday with a Family Car Treasure Hunt, starting at 6pm from the Harbour and costing £5 per car.

That is followed by music in the Station Hotel from 8pm onwards.

On Saturday, a Fun Day is being held in the Community Garden from 2-9pm.

That will include stalls, a beer tent, barbecue, strawberry tea, displays, kids' activities and more.

The Salmon Green is the starting point for a Family Fun Run around the town, getting underway on Sunday at 12.30pm.

It will finish at the harbour field, where the annual Kipper Barbecue in aid of Burghead in Bloom will be playing out.

The BBQ gets underway at noon and there will be stalls and other attractions.

As well as kippers, there will be burgers, hot dogs, tea and biscuits.
