THE easing of Covid restrictions has come at the perfect time for one community group which has confirmed its Burns Supper will go ahead - albeit in a revised format.

Portsoy 75 Club will host the return of its annual event next Friday, January 28 at the Station Hotel in Portsoy.

“We are delighted to be able to go ahead with this year’s Burns Supper following the latest announcement confirming the further easing of Covid restrictions," said chairman Brian Sutherland.

"The event will take place on a lesser scale than in normal circumstances, but we are very much looking forward to getting together with friends to celebrate with good food and local entertainment.

"Hopefully this will be the first event of many to come in 2022.”

The event will include a Chairman’s Welcome, The Selkirk Grace, Piping in of the Haggis and Toast to the Haggis, the Address to the Haggis, singing from the Portsoy 75 Club Choir, Immortal Memory, Toast and Reply to the Lassies and Auld Lang Syne.

The traditional haggis, neeps and tatties will be on the menu.

The event starts at 7pm and people can book places (£10) through Martin Runcie at runciemartin@yahoo.co.uk or by phoning 07720 573060.
