ELGIN'S 33A and 33C bus services will be revised to serve the new £12 million Moray Sports Centre from Monday, October 28 onwards.

The existing route, which runs between Pinefield East Road, Elgin Bus Station and Lossiemouth's James Square, will be extended to include the sports centre.

Customers will be able to travel there between 6.25am and 9.50pm on weekdays, 7.15am and 9.50pm on Saturdays and 11.51am and 6.03pm on Sundays.

Stagecoach says there will be minor changes to the timetable for customers across the route, but the frequency of service will remain unchanged.

In other Stagecoach-related news the bus company has described the 39 service which connected Elgin to Aviemore and Grantown-on-Spey over the summer period as a "success".

The 39, which has carried more than 4000 passengers since its introduction in July, will operate for the last time in 2019 on Saturday, October 26..

Daniel Laird, Stagecoach's commercial director for the north of Scotland said: "This has been another bumper year for tourism in the North Scotland area.

"We have been delighted to see an increase in the number of visitors choosing to travel by bus."
