The businesses in Elgin and Lossiemouth have received nominations for this years Scottish Café Awards.

Calum's Kitchen which operates out of the Moray Sports Centre on Linkwood Road has been nominated for the Café Kitchen of the Year award.

Owner Calum Main said: "I'm absolutely buzzing and can't believe it. The nomination just came out of nowhere, i got an email and thought it was spam, but then when I looked into it I realised it was actually true.

"I have no idea who nominated us but it's absolutely magic. After all our hard work and getting through Covid, it's really great to get the recognition and to see so many businesses in one area be nominated, what a great achievement for us all."

The nominations are all based on customer referrals and several other local businesses have also been short-listed, with Elgin's Cafe Kombucha, Batchen Street Coffee and The Ditsy Teacup along with Lossie's Twenty Nineteen Coffee all nominated for an award.

Laura Scott owner of The Ditsy Teacup, which has been nominated as Customers Café of the Year, said: "It's lovely to be nominated and so nice to be recognised by our customers. It is great to see people are recognising cafés in small towns too not just in big cities and so lovely someone took to the time to nominate us."

The awards ceremony will take place at The Marriott Hotel in Glasgow on Monday, June 27.
