He added: "All our adventure activities are overseen by our Covid officer, who is responsible for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of our participants, instructors, volunteers and the general public."

Outfit Moray's community fundraiser, Karen Cox, points out that, whilst they are still delivering outdoor learning activities, they have have had to cancel their 100km hike and bike challenge event, Cairngorm to Coast, due to take place in October.

"As Cairngorm to Coast (C2C) attracts participants from all over the UK, and with Covid-19 cases currently on the increase again, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel this year’s C2C. We are incredibly disappointed, but the safety of our participants, staff, volunteers, and local residents along the route is paramount, and we believe this is the most sensible course of action at this time.

"As a charity, we are heavily reliant on the income we receive from fundraising activities like C2C to fund the work we do with vulnerable or disadvantaged young people across Moray and, like many charities, the coronavirus pandemic and necessary restrictions have had a huge impact on our ability to raise funds.

"Cancelling C2C is yet another lost opportunity to bring in the vital income needed to deliver outdoor learning and adventure activities for young people in Moray but, we still have places available on our Ben Nevis Carn Mor trek on September 26 and the Strathpuffer 24hr endurance biking event on January 16 and 17."
