SITUATED on the pretty and tranquil Cannich Caravan and Camping Park near Glen Affric, but open to all visitors, the Bog Cotton Café has been designed to blend in with the natural surroundings that draw people to this beautiful part of the Highlands.

Inside you will find a selection of tasty homemade cakes – succinctly described in one five-star Tripadvisor review as: “Mmmmmmmmm!” – bacon rolls and light lunches, including a good selection of vegetarian options, all washed down with high quality barista coffee.

For something more permanent to remind you of your trip to Glen Affric, the Bog Cotton Café also has its own gift shop showcasing locally sourced crafts.

Unfortunately, coronavirus restrictions have resuted in the café having to remove some of its indoor seating, hopefully on a temporary basis, resulting in indoor dining being offered on a first come, first served basis, but the Bog Cotton Café also has plenty of outdoor tables so visitors can enjoy eating al fresco – when the Scottish weather allows. However, a covered veranda does offer some protection from the elements.

Currently rating 4.5 on Tripadvisor with a five-out-of -five rating for atmosphere, visitors not only praise the consistent quality of the food, from its amazing bacon rolls to its excellent fresh scones, but the friendliness of the staff and even the quality of its crafts.

“A bright and friendly space with friendly service and yummy food,” one traveller wrote, while another summed up their visit as: “A real find.”

Breakfast is served from 9am to 11am, with a lunchtime menu on offer until closing time at 4pm.

The Bog Cotton Café is currently open every day, except Thursday.
