Car lovers are being invited on a 250-mile north east adventure during the course of the first Sunday in May.

The ever-popular Cannonbawz Run has been raising money annually for charity for many years.

This time around, the rally will set off from Ballindalloch distillery at 9am on Sunday, May 7.

It's then going to take on the North East 250, which leads over the Lecht, through Deeside, then up and around the coast.

The stops en route will be Glenshee, Deeside activity park and Portknockie chipshop, before Stew 'n' Drew's ice cream in Hopeman plus a finishing-line celebration at the village's west beach caravan park.

Cannonbawz was the first official car group to drive the North East 250 route when it opened in 2019.

Kris O'Neill, an air ambulance paramedic from Lossiemouth, is the event's founder.

He said: "This event, as all others, will be in memory and celebration of my brother, hero and best friend, Liam, who sadly passed away to Marfan syndrome in August 2021."

Monies raised by the rally will be divided between the Marfan Trust, Race Against Dementia and the Marie Crawford Boyd foundation for sufferers of Vasculitis.
