The game on Sunday, May 1 was organised by a team from The Northern Scot.

Elgin City FC gifted the use of Borough Briggs stadium and pitch for the afternoon.

The event was a great success and the total raised went to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Shirlie Geddes, fundraising manager for the north of Scotland, visited Borough Briggs recently to celebrate the success of the charity match.

Joe Millican and Chris Saunderson, joint content editors of The Northern Scot and its sister titles, thanked Keiran Carty, general manager of Elgin City, for the club's backing of the event, and all those individuals and groups who supported it.

The match ended in a resounding victory for the police team.
