A HEALTHY way to forge business links is being offered up in Moray.

Netwalking – networking while having a good walk – is among a series of events organised by Moray Chamber of Commerce as part of its Active April programme.

Others sessions range from kickboxing and indoor cycling to aqua aerobics and kettle bells.

The chamber's chief executive officer Sarah Medcraf said: "We know, according to the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, that sickness absence is estimated to cost UK organisations a huge £29 billion each year.

"We also know that stress is the number one reason for long term absenteeism.

"So Active April is to encourage organisations to get moving, after all, exercise helps bump up the production of your endorphins.

"This is a great opportunity to get away from the desk and try new things. We’ve teamed up with chamber members such as Craggan Outdoors, Moray College UHI and Moray Council to offer some networking opportunities out with the usual environment."

April is also national Stress Awareness Month and this year's On Your Feet Britain Day – where people are encouraged to sit less and move more – falls on April 26.

The Active April events are free, or offered at low cost, and are open to all, although priority is given to chamber members.
