Moray Council’s m.connect Bus Revolution roadshow is stopping at Findhorn Village Centre

A seaside village that has been without a scheduled bus service since last August is hosting a public drop-in to discuss a solution.

Moray Council’s m.connect team will attend Findhorn Village Centre from 10am-1pm on Monday, March 24 to talk about phase 2 of the ‘Bus Revolution’ project that is currently expanding across the region.

A local authority spokesperson confirmed that, with enough demand, m.connect could fill the gap created by Stagecoach last autumn.

He said: “We encourage residents to attend the drop-in to learn more, share their experiences, and provide input on future transport solutions. Your feedback is invaluable in shaping services that truly meet the needs of the community!”

The termination of the Stagecoach number 32 bus remains a local transport issue, particularly for residents who used the Findhorn and Kinloss to Forres link.

Evidence shows that, since the withdrawal of the service, booking requests for m.connect’s on-demand service have doubled, validating efforts to source additional funding from community stakeholders to address the problem.

These efforts include collaboration with a local community transport organisation, with the aim of introducing some form of regular provision this year.

The m.connect on-demand service in the Forres area operates from 8.30am-5pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am-5pm on Saturday.

The 314 service also regularly runs from Forbeshill to the centre of town.

To request a change to the service m.connect operates, attend the drop-in at Findhorn or email transport@moray.gov.uk.

A council spokesperson finished: “The community engagement sessions are an opportunity for residents to find out more about the m.connect service and its phase 2 plans.

“The drop-ins are part of our wider communications plan, which focuses on: what m.connect has delivered to date; changes being made to the m.connect network; and what is being introduced this year.”
