A FUNDRAISING effort for Moray Food Plus during the Covid-19 lockdown is in full swing thanks to 16 of the north's top golf courses.
Derek Ramsay, one of Moray Golf Club's PGA professionals, wanted to reach out and help the food bank service in his home area during difficult times.
So he rounded up local clubs to each offer prizes of a fourball voucher for a raffle aiming to raise funds for the project.
Winners in the raffle could get a round of golf for four people at Royal Dornoch, which topped a list of the world's top 100 clubs compiled by an extensive panel of industry leaders, and Royal Aberdeen which has hosted the Scottish Open European Tour event.
"I thought it would be a good thing for the clubs to do but also raise awareness for the food bank and the increase in referrals they have take since lockdown," said Derek.
"As well as raising awareness and money of the food bank and the work they do, I also wanted to raise awareness that golf clubs will be struggling in the current situation and their members need to stick by them.
"Despite that, 16 golf courses have kindly donated a four ball for their respective course."
For every £10 donated, people will get a ticket for the raffle and a chance to play at one of the courses supporting the fundraiser.
As well as Royal Dornoch and Royal Aberdeen, clubs involved are Moray Old, Moray New, Brora, Tain, Inverness Kings, Inverness GC, Forres, Hopeman, Elgin, Maverston, Rothes, Kemnay, Newmachar, Peterculter and Portlethen.
