Lossiemouth’s post office - housed within Buckley’s Newsagents - is to remain open





A change of direction has seen a town’s post office - due to close before Christmas - remain open.

Lossiemouth’s post office - housed within Buckley’s Newsagents - was set to close on December 18 due to staffing issues.

However, franchise owner Tony Buckley said he was given “an ultimatum” and it will now remain open.

“The week before I was meant to close, I was given an ultimatum,” he explained.

“If I closed on December 18, I’d have to close the ATM as well. So I said I would discuss it after my holidays.”

Now back from his Christmas break, Mr Rook has decided to reopen the post office - in the mornings only.

The post office will open from 9am until midday, Monday to Saturday, and will remain closed on Sundays.

The newsagents is open from 8am until 11.55am from Monday to Saturday and 8am until 10am on Sundays.
