DINERS and drinkers returned to familiar surroundings at the weekend in Moray.

With Moray's move back into level 2 of coronavirus restrictions, people were allowed to dine and drink indoors again.

The Seafield Arms Hotel in Cullen, Admirals Inn at Findochy and Fife Arms Hotel in Keith were among the local establishments delighted to welcome back guests indoors after nearly five months.

Donald Thain, general manager of the Seafield Arms Hotel, said: "We were very excited about being able to reopen fully and we had a very busy weekend.

"We had a lot of diners and people coming in for a drink.

"It was nice to see people coming and doing something we take for granted.

"All the staff got a great buzz from the weekend."

The hotel recently welcomed TV star Davina McCall, who was in Cullen filming for a new programme.

Wendy Wilson, owner of The Admirals Inn at Findochty, said: "The weekend went very well and everyone was happy. The restaurant was busy and it was good to see people back."

Staff at the Fife Arms Hotel, in Keith's Regent Square, welcomed back a few old faces after Covid-19 restrictions were eased at midnight on Friday.

Barman Alfie Cameron said there was an atmosphere of good cheer as people enjoyed a drink indoors once again.

The bar had previously been able to serve customers in its beer garden.

Alfie said: "It was busy enough and everything seemed to go alright.

"It was busy here Friday, Saturday and the Sunday.

"Folk aren't allowed to stand at the bar and everyone has to be seated but everyone enjoyed themselves.

"And of course we have early closure, so I think folk were out earlier since we close at 10.30pm."
