The award presented recognises the “fantastic opportunities” the centre – run by Debbie Parker-Banfield and her team - provides young people in the early learning and childcare sector.

Debbie said: “For over 20 years the centre has prided itself on partnership working with outside agencies in Moray.

“Working closely with Lossiemouth High School and DYW enables the young workforce of Moray to have development opportunities in the world of work at our centre.

“Recognition of our continued support for the young work force is a great boost to me and my team.”

The team at the RAF Lossie Childcare Centre provides support to young individuals through the Career Ready programme, allowing site visits for pupils interested in childcare careers.

The team provide individuals with apprenticeships, offering work experience to school and college pupils, as well as mock interviews and CV checks to prepare the pupils for their future careers in childcare.

DYW Moray School Co-ordinator Jolene Young praised the centre’s contributions to the sector.

She said: “Debbie and her team have consistently gone above and beyond in their support for local young people.

“From offering apprenticeships to facilitating work experience placements, they are providing fantastic opportunities for pupils to explore and build careers in early learning and childcare.

“Their enthusiasm and willingness to engage with schools across Moray make them truly deserving of this recognition.”
