CHRISTMAS – don’t you just love this special time of year?

Last Christmas was a strange one with Covid impacting on everyone’s ability to come together as normal.

Everyone can help make Christmas better for those less fortunate.
Everyone can help make Christmas better for those less fortunate.

It’s hard to say just yet how the pandemic will affect the Christmas period this year.

What we can say for sure is that regardless of the pandemic, there will be lots of people in need, for one reason or another.

And that is why it is so special that people who are fortunate enough to have a little more, can show the true spirit of Christmas by helping others facing hardship.

Last year, despite the pandemic, you helped more than 300 people in the Moray Council area enjoy a brighter Christmas thanks to your generosity.

Young children, teenagers, families and older people, perhaps living on their own, were all given a seasonal boost thanks to the Moray and Grampian Christmas Toy and Food Appeal.

And as we launch the 2021 appeal, we are asking again for your help with donations of toys, gifts, non-perishable food and money.

Our partners this year are the St Giles Centre in Elgin, The Moray Council, Elgin BID, Tesco Elgin, Asda Elgin, Associated Seafoods and Dr Gray’s Hospital.

The Northern Scot and St Giles Centre are the two main donation stations but items can he handed in at all the partners, as well as other collection points listed on our poster (right).

The appeal runs until Friday, December 17, which will be the last day for donations so the gifts can be wrapped and delivered in time for Christmas.

Thank you for all your support over the last three decades and for 2021.
