An Elgin based whisky auction is once again urging people to dig out their unwanted whisky and attend one of their free valuation events to find out what their bottles might be worth.

Siblings Murray and Dawn Greig, co-owners of Click Whisky Auctions are extending an invite to everyone that have bottles of whisky they'd like valued to the three day event held at their Elgin base.

A free valuation service is offered to give members of the public an idea of the value of their bottles before deciding to sell, a service that co-owner Murray Greig is happy for everyone to use.

"Here at Click Whisky Auctions It's important to us that the selling process is as simple and transparent as possible, the free valuation service is part of that, ensuring customers get a good idea of what their bottles may sell for should they decide to sell them in our auction".

When asked what someone should do if they can't attend their local valuation event or have too many bottles to take in he said:

"That's not a problem for us, anyone who for whatever reason can't attend the event can call us and we can arrange to go to their home."

When asked why they were hosting another event weeks after the last one he explained:

“'The reason we've decided to host another of these events is that firstly it was really busy!

“Our last event encouraged a lot of people through our door that possibly wouldn't have got in touch. It's important that people have the chance to talk to you in person, an opportunity that seemed to be well appreciated by everyone I spoke to, they can have their questions answered properly or concerns addressed before they decide what to do next.

“The other reason is that I think there may have been quite a few people that maybe couldn't decide if they'd come along or maybe some that just didn't know about it until after it ended.

“Not only does this type of event offer people an opportunity to find out the value of their bottles, should they decide to sell it also helps free up some space in their cupboard.

“That seemed to be a reoccurring theme with our last event, whisky stored in the attic, cupboard or even the shed!

“A lot of it was unwanted presents, some were inherited bottles and some were accumulated as a result of working in the industry and just didn't know what to do with them or how to go about finding out more on how they could sell it, so this provides people that possibly have unwanted whisky with the opportunity to find out more.''
