Deveronvale and Deveronside sportsman’s dinner - featuring Eoin Jess and Ted Christopher - to raise funds for double-amputee Adam Golebiewski

A sportsman’s dinner featuring two well-known Scottish footballing faces will raise funds for a goalkeeper who had both of his legs amputated after a horror car crash.

Deveronside keeper Adam Golebiewski was involved in a life-changing accident on Sunday, September 8, when a car carrying four passengers was involved in a collision with a wall in Macduff.

Deveronvale, who play at Princess Royal Park, are helping a fundraiser for Adam Golebiewski.

The teenager, who is an apprentice with a building company, has been forced to take a spell off work after the accident - as have his parents.

Junior side Deveronside immediately threw their support behind Golebiewski, and a local fundraiser has also seen £15,000 raised for Adam and Whitehills player Curtis West, who required surgery on his back after the crash.

However, the club and Highland League club Deveronvale have come together to go one step further in their support of the 18-year-old.

The sportsman’s dinner featuring Aberdeen legend Eoin Jess and singer Ted Christopher, famed for his Tartan Army songs, will raise funds for Adam and his family to help with his “life-changing recovery”.

Money was originally due to be put towards getting new floodlights at Princess Royal Park.

The event is being held jointly by the clubs at the Fife Lodge Hotel in Banff on October 26

Ted Christopher will begin the evening with a few stories from travelling and following Scotland around the world, before Eoin Jess takes to the stage.

Auctions and raffles will also take place during the evening.
