THE Covid-19 lockdown may have put paid to many traditional end of term activities at local schools as they remain shut until after the summer holidays, but that has not prevented one Buckie primary creating their own memories to take away with them.

P7 pupils heading for BCHS usually are able to take a photographic memory or two with them as they begin the latest stage of their academic journey, but with schools shut since March this was not going to happen.

However, thanks to professional Buckie photographer Shelley Mackie they will not be sent on their way empty-handed.

A socially distanced photo shoot was held in the school playground, with each child having an individual time slot during which they turned up and had their photo taken.

Once she had all the pupils' images, Ms Mackie then set about merging them into two larger photos.

Each child was given a letter or number to hold which, when the photos are viewed together, spell out 'Cluny Leavers 2020'.

Subject to Scottish Government and scientific advice, the youngsters at Cluny and other schools throughout Moray should be able to return to some form of normal schooling on August 12.
