WORLD Book Day was just a-door-able at Cluny Primary as the pupils took a novel twist on the annual reading celebrations.

Prior to the day itself on Thursday, March 3 the kids had been working hard to transform the door of their classrooms into a book cover.

Handed the weighty task of separating out the colourful and high standard entries from across the school was Buckie Community High School librarian Stephen Leitch.

After much deliberation, P2M emerged victorious in the junior school section with their Water Boy-inspired design, while P67L triumphed in the senior category thanks to their take on The Nowhere Emporium.

He said: "They were all amazing and such a high standard.

"It was a really really difficult decision to make as each deserved to win!"

This year marks the 25th anniversary of World Book Day. The event's mission is to promote reading for pleasure, offering every child and young person the opportunity to have a book of their own.

World Book Day is celebrated in over 100 countries across the globe.
