College set to welcome new principal

MORAY College UHI’s new principal will take up his post on Monday.

David Patterson was appointed to the position of principal and chief executive at the end of 2015, and said he is looking forward to the new challenge and relocating to Moray.

Originally from Northern Ireland, according to the college, Mr Patterson brings extensive experience to the sector. Most recently, he was the deputy principal at The Manchester College.

Educated to Masters level, Mr Patterson has worked in a variety of roles in the college sector, including employment in the Baltic States, the Arabian Gulf and Ghana.

Dr Jana Hutt, the college’s chair of the board and management, said Mr Patterson will “lead the continual development of Moray College UHI, both within the Moray community and as a partner within the University of the Highlands and Islands”.

She added: “We are looking forward to working with David and supporting an exciting new phase in the development of Moray College UHI within the wider UHI.”
