Cullen Primary kids celebrate Bard's birth in style

CULLEN Primary was a hive of activity as pupils and staff alike celebrated the life and work of Robert Burns.

The whole school came together to take part in the Bonnie Bunting for Burns scheme.

Kids in each class harnessed their creative talents to create unique bunting for the Bard which were then displayed throughout the school for all to admire.

Meanwhile, youngsters in P1-3 were very busy in their celebrations of Robert Burns' birth.

There was a special treat in store for the pupils when Gordon Hay, author of the book Nursery Rhymes for Loons and Quines came in to school to read some of his rhymes and poems.

Entertainment of a different sort was in the offing in the hall where the Haggis Hurling was in full flow. The aim was simple – who could throw the haggis furthest.

A further test was handed to the P1-3 kids when they were all asked to come up with a good Doric word for their home learning challenge.
