Coveted Findhorn Beach Hut hits the market at cut-price as Moray School Bank cites ‘change in direction’

One of a handful of coveted beach huts in an idyllic Moray beauty spot has hit the market at a cut-price.

Moray School Bank has placed its “wonderful beach hut” in Findhorn up for sale at a reduced price of £28,000.

Just 30 beach huts have been sanctioned by Moray Council on the beach.

The charity, which provides school uniforms and warm winter clothing to children in poverty in Moray, offered the hut for use through either a donation or free of charge to people who used its services.

It had done so since 2021 but a “change of direction” has seen the charity put the hut on the market.

The hut is one of just 30 which were officially sanctioned by Moray Council just over a decade ago.

Despite early opposition, they have become highly sought after and somewhat iconic features of Findhorn Beach.

Most of the huts, which rarely come to market, are listed for offers in excess of £30,000 but ‘Beach Hut 8’ has been listed for slightly under this after the price was reduced in mid-July.

The listing adds: “This is an exceptionally rare chance to own a piece of one of Scotland's most beautiful and iconic coastal spots.

“These huts offer not just a place by the sea, but a lifestyle - a peaceful, personal retreat to enjoy slow, sun-filled days with everything you need already at the beach.

“Occupying prime front row position on a world-renowned stretch of pristine sand, each hut has been designed and built to an exceptionally high standard, combining durability with charm.”

The hut measures 2m x 2.5m and looks out directly onto the Moray Firth.

Like the other huts on the beach, it is “off-grid” with no electricity or water supply.
