The elderly couple, who were in the Ford Fiesta, were taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

The occupants of the VW Transporter and the Citroen DS3 were uninjured.

"We are also appealing to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident who may have seen any of the vehicles prior to the crash and has dash-cam footage to please check and come forward with anything which may be relevant."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2617 of August 16.
