A MORAY resident has died of Covid-19, it has been confirmed in today's Scottish Government update.

Eight other Moray residents have had coronavirus mentioned on their death certificate, figures released monthly by the National Records of Scotland show, taking the total number of coronavirus-related deaths in the area to 22 since the outbreak began.

This death is the first from a confirmed case of the virus in Moray since June 6.

A total of 16 cases were confirmed in Moray in yesterday's weekly update, with six of those centred around the Findhorn, Kinloss and Pluscarden Valley region.
