Inverness to Aberdeen trains disrupted after vehicle hits Inverurie bridge
Trains on a major route have been disrupted over fears a bridge may be damaged after being “struck” by a vehicle.
Passengers between Aberdeen and Inverness are facing delays after a vehicle crashed into a bridge at Inverurie.
Network Rail Scotland confirmed on Twitter that the disruption will continue until engineers can determine the level of damage to the bridge.
The disruption is affecting trains heading in both directions.
A Scotrail spokesperson said services between Inverness and Aberdeen will instead run between Inverness and Insch.
While Aberdeen to Inverness trains will run between Aberdeen and Inverurie.
According to an update posted on the train company’s Twitter account, train tickets between Inverness and Aberdeen will be accepted on Stagecoach buses during the disruption.
