A big-hearted Moray doctor is hoping to leave a special gift to her health centre after retiring this week.
Dr Elizabeth Albiston worked her last day at Elgin Health Centre on Thursday after more than 30 years at the practice.
As a parting gift, Dr Albiston is hoping to raise around £1000 to purchase a King of Hearts monitor for the surgery.
The monitor can be worn by patients to track their heart rate for a week, instead of the current monitors which can only be worn for 24 hours, therefore giving a more accurate reading.
Former staff and current colleagues of Dr Albiston gathered for a farewell celebration at the practice on Wednesday morning.
Over the years the Dundee-born doctor has built a relationship with her patients at the Moray surgery.
Many brought gifts and flowers, with donations being put towards the new monitor.
Dr Albiston said: "There has been loads of change over the years but I would like to say thank you to all of my patients.
"It has been a privilege to help look after the patients and I hope that in our journey together I have been some help and support.
"Everyone has been so kind and brought gifts and flowers and have been donating, it would be a great monitor to have for the practice."
Looking ahead to retiring, Dr Albiston is looking forward to having more time with her family.
She added: "I am looking forward to retiring, obviously I am going to really miss my patients and miss my work colleagues but at the same time I am looking forward to having some time to spend with my family."
Donations towards the heart monitor can still be handed in to Maryhill health centre in Elgin.
