DONATIONS of toys, books, games, puzzles, CDs, DVDs, sports equipment and toiletries are all needed as part of our Moray and Grampian Christmas Toy and Food Appeal.

Also non-perishable food items such as bottles, tinned foods, dried goods, soups, jams and preserves will go to support some of our senior citizens.

There are a number of collection points across the Moray area taking part in this year's appeal.

The St Giles shopping centre in Elgin is the main drop-off point for donations.

You can also hand in donations to The Northern Scot office in South Street, Elgin between 9.30am and 2pm Monday to Friday.

Dr Gray's Hospital, Elgin BID, Asda Elgin, Tesco Elgin and Associated Seafoods in Buckie are also appeal partners.

In addition, there are a number of collection points who are supporting the appeal again.

These are:

Aberlour - Frank Ogg, High Street.

Buckie - Moravian Motors and Buckie Furniture, Flooring and Mobility.

Elgin - Scotmid, North Street, Bishopmill; New Elgin Post Office, Main Street; Park's Ford Elgin, East Road.

Fochabers - Christies of Fochabers (chemist), High Street.

Forres - Forres Post Office, High Street.

Keith - The Deli Shop, Mid Street.

Lossiemouth - Ian Watt, The Square.

The appeal runs until Friday, December 17.

Moray Council is our collection and distribution partner, and referrals come in from social work and local schools.

Last year more than 300 people were helped across the Moray area.
