Games Secretary Brendan Farquhar said: “We had record crowds at this years games, we have never seen anything quite like it before, it was absolutely amazing.

“It was really good have everybody back together as a community. We had a huge turnout of local families attending and we had a vast amount of visitors as well. It was really quite spectacular to see on the day.”

The event marked the 130th Year of the Dufftown Highland Games and the first games since 2019.

Featured in the programme of events were light and heavy athletic events, children’s events, the Tug of War and the traditional Ben Rinnes Five Tops Hill Race.

There were also plenty of opportunities for international guests to participate in the Games, with visitors from America and Canada competing in Games events.

Mr Farquhar added: “It was a really great day all round, the weather was brilliant and everything went perfectly.

“It’s a testament to the efforts of the community, so I’d like to say a huge thanks to all our sponsors, the committee and the volunteers for helping us to make the day so good.”
