WHEN you receive your postal ballot or go to the polls on May 6, there will be a party there you may not have come across before, says Restore Scotland candidate David McHutchon.

Restore Scotland was established in 2020, on the 700th anniversary of the Declaration of Arbroath, by a group of ordinary Scots who are seeking to champion full independence for Scotland.

At present, all five of the Holyrood parties want us to be ruled from elsewhere: the Conservatives, Labour and Lib Dems from London, and the Greens and SNP from Brussels.

Neither constitutional settlement grants Scots Law primacy. Neither constitutional settlement allows Scotland full control of its own economic, social or foreign policy. And neither constitutional settlement allows Scotland control of its own borders, or allows Scottish boats exclusive access to Scottish fishing waters, with both the Conservatives and SNP continuing to pass legislation that undermines the prosperity of the Scottish fishing industry.

The only voices in Holyrood are EU and UK unionist ones.

Restore Scotland's position is the straightforward one that independence should mean independence. Scotland does not need 'help' governing herself. We don't need told how to manage our affairs by the Johnson administration in London, or a bunch of unelected bureaucrats in Brussels.

As the candidate for Banffshire and Buchan Coast, I pledge to fight for a referendum on independence, and fight to repeal the EU Continuity Act that the SNP is using to backdoor EU legislation into Scotland. And when Scotland gains independence from the UK, we will oppose surrendering our newfound independence back to the EU.

I get it also that many people are tired of debates over the constitution. As a factory worker in Turriff, I hear day-in, day-out from colleagues from Fraserburgh and Peterhead about their concerns about wages, housing and cost of living.

So whatever the issues are you are facing, I will fight for your interests in Holyrood, until the day when policies affecting our country are made by the Scottish people in Scotland for Scotland.
