Elgin Academy forced to close after water issue but Moray Council expects school to reopen promptly





Elgin Academy is expected to reopen as normal tomorrow after it was forced to close this morning.

Moray Council confirmed that the closure was due to the school having no water.

However, it is understood that the issue has since been resolved with the local authority confirming that the school will reopen tomorrow, April 22.

A spokesperson for Moray Council said: “As a result of having no water this morning Elgin Academy is closed on Monday 21 April.

“It’s anticipated that the issue will be resolved, allowing for the school to reopen as normal on Tuesday following all necessary checks.”
