Elgin Academy Pupil Wins big in North of Scotland Rotary Young Writer Competition

AN Elgin Academy pupil has been crowned as the North of Scotland's Rotary Young Writer of the year.

North of Scotland's Rotary Young Writer of the year Owen Watson won across 15 Rotary clubs for his work, titled Environment.

14-year-old Owen Watson won the competition, with young writers from more than 15 Rotary clubs across the North of Scotland's District1010 taking part.

The Rotary's National Young Writer Competition encourages young people to use their writing skills and to write with imagination and creativity.

This years theme was Environment and the challenge was to produce a legible written or typed story entitled, ‘Environment’.

Rotary President Ian Brodie was delighted to hand over a cheque for £70 and a certificate for being a finalist in the National competition to Owen Watson.
