Ms Cruickshank, who has been BID manager for two years, will take over from Laurie Piper at Moray Speyside Tourism – with Mr Piper moving to Scottish Canals in Inverness.

On her replacement, Gemma said: "I'm really thrilled that Angela has accepted our offer to take up the position as manager with Elgin BID.

"It was clear that she has a wealth of experience and I have no doubts she will enjoy the role.

"The business community is under a lot of additional pressure and I am confident that we selected the right candidate for the post.

"We were really delighted with the quality of applications and the interview panel had a tough decision to make, but we know that Angela will be a great asset to the BID members and a wonderful advocate for the town.

"We would like to thank everyone who took the time to apply and particularly those who came along to interview.

"Leaving BID was not a decision I made lightly, and it has offered me a huge amount of reassurance that Angela is taking over. I wish her every success in the future.”
