By Lorna Thompson

AN ELGIN shop has been voted Scotland's best bridal dress retailer at prestigious awards held this week.

Angharad Bridal, on South Street, won the Best Bridal Dress Retailer category at the Scottish VOWS Awards, on November 19, in a glitzy ceremony at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central, hosted by Elaine C Smith.

Angharad Bridal is in its sixth year of trading. The business moved to a larger boutique premises in February which opened up capacity to stock dresses by new designers and offer a wider range.

Owner Angharad Rogers said: "This is a huge achievement for a shop in Elgin – to beat competition all over Scotland.

"Angharad Bridal has gone from strength to strength since opening in 2014. We frequently see returning customers from previous bridal parties, and several customers who purchase a wedding dress return for bridesmaids and mother-of-the-bride outfits.

"February 2019 started with a big bang by opening a new exquisite boutique – this was completed without shutting for one day. Not to mention entertaining the entire street by running back and forth with dresses – as we only moved next door."

Angharad added: "We are delighted to be winners of such a prestigious award.

"We continually strive to offer our customers the best service possible."

The boutique is a "luxury, one-stop destination shop" for wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, occasion wear and accessories.
