A father-of-three has lost his licence after he was caught driving while more than four times the limit.
Duncan Ross was stopped by the police in Elgin shortly before 9.21pm on October 8, 2020.
The officers pulled over the 29-year-old after they witnessed his blue BMW go round the Maisondieu roundabout.
Alcohol was smelt on his breath and he was given a roadside breath test, which he failed.
An official test was administered at 10.17pm at the town's police station.
This recorded a reading of 90, compared to the legal limit of 22.
Elgin Sheriff Court was told yesterday that Ross, who has three young children, had lost his job and was now on universal credit.
Defence solicitor Matthew O'Neill said: "He had been off work on the day of the offence and had been consuming alcohol at home earlier.
"He decided to go out at 9pm, by which time he didn't think it would still affect him."
Sheriff Olga Pasportnikov issued Ross with a £680 fine, which he agreed at £10 per week.
The Kingmills resident also received a 15-month ban.
