A post from the business on social media confirming the news reads: “We are sad to be posting that 156 Bar & Grill will remain closed for the foreseeable future.

“Like many other businesses in the area, the increased running costs have spiralled, and it has simply become unsustainable to continue.

“We have relocated as many staff members as possible, and would like to thank them all, along with our customers, for the last few years.

“Hopefully 156 will not be gone forever, but for now it is the most prudent option.”

The first-floor premises currently housing the restaurant is listed for sale for offers over £150,000.

The listing describes it as being in a “prime location” while its interior benefits from “vibrant décor” which is said to create a “pleasant and relaxing ambiance”.

The restaurant has space for 130 covers while its annual rent is £33,800.
