AN ELGIN woman has penned a moving poem for World Mental Health Awareness Day.

Rachel McIntosh wrote the poem ahead of the day, which was on Saturday, October 10, in an attempt to raise awareness of suicide.

Rachel said she was unsure whether to post it before being convinced by friends who had lost loved ones to suicide.

She added: "I have had an amazing response from this poem.

"I really had to be careful writing this one to get the wording correct. I toyed with sharing it with the world and keeping it in my folder.

"I then sent it to a couple of people who have lost people to suicide to see if it's something that would maybe be helpful and they encouraged me to post it for awareness, especially with the way the world is and with suicide on the rise again."
