Moray Council is experiencing a huge increase in the number of emails it receives from residents.

A council spokesperson said: "If you’ve emailed us recently, please bear with us.

"We’re working through a larger than normal volume of enquiries and we’ve increased the number of staff working in this section to accommodate.

"To give you an idea, normally we’d receive 30 to 50 emails daily – we started this week with over 1500.

"We’re responding in order of priority.

"Please be patient and our contact centre colleagues will be in touch as soon as they can."
