Emmerdale actor Chris Chittell sends good wishes to Elgin care home

AN ELGIN care home has received a message of goodwill from one of the UK's biggest soap stars.

Chris Chittell, who plays Eric Pollard in ITV's Emmerdale, sent a video to residents at Anderson's Care Home to let them know "they are not alone" during the coronavirus lockdown.

The video, seen by the Northern Scot, can unfortunately not be shared due to containing plot give-aways.

But Mr Chittell said: "You think to yourself what have we do wrong? But we haven't done anything wrong.

"What we all will do is come together, stay alive and look after each other.

"I'm going to come and see you all again this year at Christmas time and I'm going to be wearing my best kilt.

"Just remember you are not on your own."

Emmerdale is only airing twice a week at the moment, with Mr Chittell at home in England.
