A hidden gem of the Highland golfing scene, the nine-hole Aigas Golf Course is nestled in a spectacular setting between Aigas Community Forest and the meandering River Beauy.

Aigas Golf Course is a small family business established in 1993 when Peter and Jessie Masheter diversified farmland into fairways and now run by three generations of the family.

The par-33 parkland course also has its own self-catering cottages for those looking for the perfect location to combine golf with a Highland holiday, with plenty of other activities close to hand, from birdwatching and fishing to canoeing and cycling.

The course is also open to members and visitors year-round on a pay as you play basis.

Whether staying or playing for the day, many golfers will enjoy the challenge of the signature sixth hole. There are two ways to play it – over the river or around the water hazard. Many golfers like the challenge of trying to drive the green from the tee without a splash.

Visitors have been happy to share their experiences of Aigas on social media, with one commenting: “Great location – very welcoming for all levels of golfers. A challenge for all levels too.”

Another summed it up as: “A wonderful place to stay. Fantastic golf, amazing scenery and so much to do. Bliss!”

Due to Covid-19 restrictions advance booking is necessary and can be done by telephoning 01463 782942, emailing info@aigas-holidays.co.uk or via Facebook.
