Elgin collision sees man airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after being struck by car
A pedestrian has been taken to hospital by helicopter after being struck by a vehicle.
A man in his 50s was hit by a car on Morriston Road - near Elgin Academy and Bishopmill Primary School - on Saturday night.
An air ambulance landed nearby and the stricken man was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he received treatment for his injuries.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 1853 hours on Saturday to attend an incident on Morriston Road in Elgin.
“We dispatched one ambulance, a paramedic response unit and an air ambulance to the scene.
“We transported one male patient in his 50s to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a crash involving a car and a male pedestrian on Morriston Road, Elgin.
“Emergency services attended and the man was taken to hospital for treatment by helicopter.”
Police are investigating the incident and have asked the public for their help.
A police spokesperson added: “Enquiries are ongoing and officers ask anyone who witnessed this incident or who was in the area and may have dashcam footage to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting Incident number 2987 of October 19.”
