THE owners of a Moray hotel – delighted to be open again after another lockdown – want to pay tribute to people in their local community who have gone above and beyond during the pandemic.
A full dining experience is on offer at the Dowans Hotel in Aberlour for worthy nominees.
Steph Murray, who co-owns and runs the hotel with her sister Lauren and parents Michael and Marie, says it will be similar to a tables for heroes initiative run by Michel Roux Jr, at his restaurant Le Gavroche.
“We are particularly keen to hear about people who have been selfless during the pandemic, not just health or care workers, it could be people who have worked in a supermarket or helped get food for people who have been self-isolating,” said Steph.
“We want to recognise people who have gone above and beyond, maybe to help friends and family members.”
The family, which employs 20 members of staff at the hotel, has been pleased to welcome back guests in recent months and Steph said they hope it will be the last lockdown.
“The last year has been a nightmare for a lot of people for a variety of reasons.”
