Moray Council approves Springfield plan for Buckie homes
Final permission has been granted for a development which will see more than 170 properties built.
The Springfield development, east of Barhill Road in Buckie, was already backed by councillors at a meeting in November 2024.
But final sign-off came just yesterday, after a Section 75 contract laying out the level of developers’ contributions was agreed.
Details of the final agreement are not yet available.
A prior application to build 101 homes on the site was submitted by Springfield in 2021.
The developer appealed to the Scottish Government - who granted planning permission in September 2023 - after Moray Council missed the deadline for determining the application.
Of the 174 houses and flats in the new development, which is made up of 29 different styles of home, a total of 44 will be affordable housing.
The properties are set to range from bungalows to three-storey blocks of flats, with one retail unit.
A range of infrastructure, including roads, surface water drainage, landscaping and a playpark will also be built under the plans.
Two new bus stops will be created to support the development, along with landscaping, a public art installation and an allotment area.
Moray Council included a total of 33 conditions within the planning permission.
