Five new cases of coronavirus confirmed in Moray in the last week

FIVE new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Moray in the last week, taking the area's total since the outbreak began to 134.

The positive covid-19 tests were taken on September 23, September 24, September 27 and September 28 (x2).

Over the last seven days, 336 negative tests have been returned by Moray residents.

Since the outbreak began, 10,622 tests have been taken by people living in Moray – with 10,488 negative and 134 positive.

The most recent death update showed 21 people in Moray have died due to covid-19. Of those, 13 tested positive and died within 28 days and eight had the virus mentioned on their death certificate.

NHS Grampian – which includes Moray, Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City – has now confirmed 2313 cases of coronavirus. That's 173 new cases in the last week.

Scotland-wide update

Scotland recorded its highest number of positive coronavirus tests in a single day yesterday with 806. Today saw 640 new cases confirmed.

In the week up to September 30, 38,226 people were newly tested with 3749 testing positive.

Since the outbreak began, a total of 776,959 people in Scotland have been tested for covid-19, with 29,244 positive and 747,715 negative.

Seven deaths of people who had tested positive for covid-19 were confirmed overnight – the highest number since June 17.

The number of coronavirus-related deaths in Scotland is now 4257, with 2519 having tested positive and died within 28 days.

A total of 15 people are in intensive care with recently-confirmed covid-19, with 137 in hospital.

In total, 4424 patients who have tested positive for covid-19 have been released from hospital since March 5.
