Crash near Burghead sees two taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and three taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital for treatment





Emergency services have confirmed that five people were injured in a crash involving two cars yesterday evening.

The collision, reported at around 5.50pm on Sunday (January 12) resulted in the B9013 south of Burghead being closed between the A96 and College of Roseisle.

Two fire appliances were mobilised to the scene where a total of five casualties were found.

Firefighters extracted two casualties who were then handed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 17:54 on Sunday January 12 to attend a road traffic collision on the B9013, Newton.

“We dispatched two ambulances, one air ambulance, one paramedic response unit (PRU) and one Pre-Hospital Immediate Care and Trauma (PICT) team to the scene.

“We transported two patients to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary – one by road and one by air ambulance – and three patients to Dr Gray’s Hospital.”
