A major Inverness bar and restaurant which has been a fixture of the city for almost 30 years has been put up for sale.

Johnny Foxes & The Den, which is located on Bank Street, is one of the most popular nightspots in the city, with its pub, restaurant and nightclub pulling in locals and visitors alike.

The remaining 25 years of its lease are now available to buy, with interested parties being told the asking price on application.

Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co is handling the sale, and is confident of strong interest in the business.

The Irish-themed bar, restaurant and nightclub, which opened in 1997, can accommodate up to 520 customers, and has won both national and Highland awards.

It is known for hosting live music seven nights a week, serving a large selection of food, and “offering the best venue for drinks in town”.

Simon Watson, business agent at Christie & Co, is managing the sale and said, “Being a frequent visitor to Inverness over the past 25 years, I have always enjoyed a night in Foxes! I am very excited to work on behalf of Don Lawson and his team to market Johnny Foxes and The Den, without doubt one of the most iconic and exciting opportunities on the Scottish hospitality scene. We are confident that there will be no shortage of interest.”

Interested buyers seeking more information about the sale, should contact Simon Watson at Christie & Co on 07754 559 534 or email simon.watson@christie.com.

Don Lawson, the owner of Johnny Foxes, was not immediately available for comment. He also runs the Jimmy Badgers bar in nearby Church Street.
