FNWFA president Matthew Young said: “The committee had planned early on in the SFA-enforced suspension of football for a worst-case scenario of needing to start no later than the first week of July.

“As the true impact of the pandemic has unfolded, it had become clear football at this level will not be able to, or is extremely unlikely to, restart safely before the end of summer.

“So the committee have decided to delay all competitions until 2021. Clubs have been offered the opportunity to either roll over their membership to 2021, or receive a refund on their entry fees.”

Moray and District Welfare FA has not yet made an official decision regarding its season.

Media secretary Iain Mair said: “Our previous plan was to hold a reduced season later in the year, but we are well aware that we are quickly running out of viable time.

“A return to contact full football is only going to come in phase four, which does feel some time away yet in all honesty.

“Hopefully we can give a concrete answer soon.”

Eleven clubs had signed up for Moray’s league, with 12 signed up for the FNWFA’s now-cancelled season.
