THE Mosset Tavern in Forres has closed today after a staff member tested positive for coronavirus.
Speaking on social media, owner Gordon Brailsford said he was "devastated" to have to close the pub but added that the decision was being made in the interest of customer safety.
He said: "The unthinkable has happened. One of our team members has tested positive for covid-19.
"As your safety is paramount we have taken the decision to close with immediate effect.
"I am devastated because from day one we have done everything right.
"Despite our exceptional best efforts a member of staff has contracted covid-19. Not in our premises, we have been able to track it back, but it has happened.
"We will get the place back up and running as soon as it is safe to do so."
The Mosset Tavern has launched their innovative "operation curfew" yesterday and were making use of their outdoor area.
Mr Brailsford encouraged anyone with concerns to get in touch on Facebook.
