Moray Indian restaurants in Elgin, Dufftown and Keith in the running for top award
Moray is home to more finalists at Scotland’s top curry awards this year than anywhere outside Glasgow.
In total four Indian restaurants across the county have made the shortlist for the Asian Curry Awards.
Among those nominated for the “Curry Oscars” are Panache and Spice Tandoori in Elgin, Spice of India in Dufftown and The Bengal Spice in Keith.
Moray’s total of four finalists is the highest tally for anywhere besides Glasgow.
Over the next few weeks, judges from the Asian Catering Federation (ACF) are set to discuss each of the entries on this year’s shortlist and determine this year’s overall winners.
The winners will be announced at a gala dinner and presentation on Sunday, November 16 at Grosvenor House in London.
Chairman of the Asian Catering Federation Yawar Khan said the awards would be a celebration of the industry’s quality and success, despite challenges faced by UK immigration rules.
“The Asian Curry Awards highlight the best of the best in our industry and set the UK standard for excellence in Asian and Oriental cuisine,” he added.
“We couldn’t be more delighted to be in year 15 of the awards and have had a huge list of entries this year, to choose from.
“These awards celebrate the significant contribution our industry makes to the UK economy, and the hard work from everyone involved to ensure our food industry continues to thrive in 2025.
“This is despite the many challenges currently faced by the hospitality sector, in particular the new immigration rules in the UK, and the fees charged by online platforms.
“I am very much looking forward to meeting all the finalists on Sunday 16 November at the presentation of these prestigious awards.”
