Aberlour Strathspey Highland Games – results and pictures
An event that’s been dubbed ‘the friendly games’ attracted a happy crowd of spectators at the weekend.
The Aberlour Strathspey Highland Games on Saturday boasted a strong line-up of pipe bands, Highland dancers and athletes.
Show secretary Brian Cameron said: “Our event is small but perfectly formed.
“The Alice Littler Park is a fantastic natural amphitheatre. It’s just a great venue next to the River Spey.”
“The day is both competitive but also a lot of fun. We like to think of it as the friendly games.”
Andy Simpson, the Lord Lieutenant of Banffshire, was one of the many in Aberlour.
Speaking afterwards said: “Congratulations to the organisers and volunteers who made this happen.
“An excellent crowd enjoyed the day and it was great to catch up with friends.
“The entrants came from across the North East and beyond, so well done to everyone who took part.”
